Opera Bridge Showcase Concert
The performance marks the culmination of Opera Bridge, an Erasmus+ partnership between Musikkultur Rheinsberg and Opera Collective Ireland (OCI). Developed to support emerging opera professionals as they move from training into sustainable international careers, the project brings together talented young artists from Ireland and Germany for an intensive programme of mentoring, masterclasses, professional development and artistic collaboration.
Representing Ireland in this year’s project are Adam McDonagh, Luke Horner, Deirdre Higgins, Megan O’Neill, Emma Power and Sarah Luttrell, performing alongside their German colleagues as part of the Rheinsberg Summer Opera Festival 2026.
Testament
An intimate and powerful meditation on memory, grief and truth, this provocative chamber opera composed by Tarik O’Regan with a libretto by Colm Tóibín adapted from his novella The Testament of Mary, unfolds in the final years of Mary, mother of Jesus.
